By dramatically shifting the context where these objects lived (a dollar store), Object Agent aimed to challenge a value bias around what we choose to collect. I wished to champion everyday ephemera to define the culture and time within which we live. By using a specific photographic language pulled from tabletop photography, the work demonstrates the ability of context and the tactics of documentation to influence notions of value when representing objects.
