By meticulously reading 25,000 images from UNESCO’s Photobank, the archive was re-performed and arranged into new categories, revealing several unexpected patterns. The bookworks problematize the belief of the archivist as a neutral, objective, holder of truth, and instead demonstrated that through the act of naming and categorizing, one’s imprint is always on the material. The archive can be seen as self portrait of the archivist rather than a representation of the subjects portrayed. Books available for purchase on request. Excerpts from select chapters below.
